Canterbury Hockey Club Chairman: "We punch way above our weight"

Canterbury Hockey Club Chairman John Hinchcliff has praised the level of sport in Canterbury, and he says that he believes the main reason for the success to be the facilities available.
Hinchcliff, who has been involved with the club since the 1970s, said: "considering the size of the city, we do punch way above our weight for the population that we've actually got."
"I think a lot of it has been built on the facilities and people actually wanting to come and play here."
The Hockey Club is based at PoloFarm Sports Club, Littlebourne Road, Canterbury, along with Canterbury Cricket Club and a number of other teams in different sports.
Canterbury Hockey Club are one of the most successful in the country, with their Ladies side in the Premier Division, and their Men's team one division lower in the Conference East, where they are currently leaders.
